You can catch the subway (green line) from some of the most touristic places such as Victoria Sq., Omonia Sq., Monastiraki or Thissio. Another way is using the buses 040 from Syntagma Sq. (Filellinon St.) or 049 from Omonia Sq. (Athinas St.)

Just in case you don't want to pass through Athens, from the airport Eleftherios Venizelos you can take the Airport Express X 96 Bus with stops in the Peace and Friendship Stadium, Lambraki Str. and Karaiskaki Sq., just in front of the main port.

Because Piraeus is the main port of Greece it will be absolutely necessary to travel from here to some of the most touristic destinations on the islands. All the ships that link the capital with Greek islands and the rest of the world leave from the historic port which is inside the city. This MAIN HARBOR is where you will get a ferry to all of the Aegean islands and Crete.

altThe train station of Piraeus is 300 meters on the right side from the Metro Station (Face to the harbor). From here you can take a Train to every destination on the Greek mainland.

The main harbor is just in front of the Piraeus' Subway Station. And to go to the Zea's port (Hydrofoils zone) you can take the trolley bus 020 from this Subway's entrance or if you use the bus 040 from Syntagma Sq. you have to get off at the 17th stop on Om. Skylitsi St. to connect with this trolley bus 020. The other alternative is to use the Bus 904 in front of the Subway's Station, and if you continue by this bus it will take you until the neighborhood of FREATIDA.
